SOTERIOLOGY (soter-, savior; -logy, study) is the branch of Theology that studies the doctrine of salvation in [locative] and through[instrumental]) the Lord Jesus Christ. This subject explains that there is no other salvation outside of the Lord Jesus Christ and that salvation is not a human process nor is it a human system, but a PERSON, the Second Person of the Trinity, no other than the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. While there are three Persons that belong to the one-kind or one class of Being in the Godkind, yet only One of Them is the Savior-Salvation of the world.

The TRINITY or the TRIUNE GOD: A short explanation is needed at this point but this subject will be dealt more substantially in the succeeding reading materials. In the infinite reality or in the infinite realm or in eternity, even prior to the creation of the world, there is one class or one-kind of Being, the Godkind of being, yet there are three eternally and permanently distinct, separate, and unique Persons (self-conscious and self-determining individuals) who are co-equal, co-existing in love and mutually agreeing in their respective commitments from eternity. They are not interchangeable in their own Person, commitment, role, work and purpose. The three Persons in the Godkind are God the Father, the first Person of the Trinity, then God the Son, the Second Person and God the Holy Spirit, the third Person. Each of them voluntarily took upon themselves their individual role in their kinship relationship corresponding to their Persons. In summary, God the Father is the Decreetor (wills and purposes) while God the Son is the Executor(performs, does, fulfils, completes, perfects the will and purpose of God the Father) and God the Holy Spirit bears Witness or testifies to the ad intra kinship relationship of each of the Three Persons of the Trinity. Whatever purpose the three Members of the Trinity has cohortatively agreed upon among themselves, God the Son carries it out to completion.

On Salvation: The Father so loved the world that He willed the world to be saved (Jn. 3:16; Heb. 10:5-7). So He sent His only begotten Son (mono [one] genes [kind] uihos [Son] – the one and only Son who is of the same kind of Being or same class/essence as that of the Father), Jesus Christ, to be the only name under heaven given among men by which the world can be saved. To do the will of the Father, the Son took the body prepared for Him by the Father (Heb. 10:5-7) which was implanted by the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary (Matt. 1:18, 20; Lk. 1:35). That body, which grew in stature and in favour with God and man (Lk. 2:52), is the body Jesus Christ, the Lord God the Son, took to incarnate Himself and was made flesh (Jn. 1:14; Rom. 8:3; Phil. 2:6-9) to be the perfect Man from heaven (Jn. 3:13; 1 Cor. 15:45-49; Heb. 10:5-7) to represent mankind by substituting Himself in the place of man when He voluntarily took the sin of man upon Himself (Rom. 8:3; 2 Cor. 5:21) and by His once and for all sacrificial offering of His body without spot to God through the eternal Spirit (Isa. 53:5; Phil. 2:6-9; Heb. 9:14; 10:10), Jesus Christ once and for all paid for the sin of the world (Jn. 19:30; Rom. 6:10; Heb. 10:10), overcome the penalty of sin which is death (1 Cor. 15:54-57) by the resurrection of His body from the grave on the third day (Acts 2:31)so that He is now the resurrection and eternal life to everyone who believes in Him that though he/she dies, that one shall live again (Jn. 11:25) because the Lamb of God, the only sacrifice for sin, has taken away the sin of the world (Jn. 1:29)

Thus, of the three Member-Persons of the Trinity, the Second Person, the Lord God the Son Jesus Christ, is the only Saviour-Redeemer of the world who gave Himself for us as a ransom for all. (Tit. 2:13-14; 1 Tim. 2:5-6) Further, salvation is not a process nor a religion nor a system of rituals or by tradition of men, but salvation is a Person and is available to whosoever accepts Jesus Christ and believes into Him (Jn. 1:12; 14:6) as his/her only salvation given under heaven among men by which we must be saved.( Acts 4:12)
